Celebrating New Hertfordshire Homes For Locals
Celebration ceremonies were held on Wednesday July 13th, for the official completion of two new affordable housing developments built in North Hertfordshire for Jephson Homes Housing Association.
The land for the two schemes, developed by Taylor French, was sold to Jephson by the Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation (LGCHF). Representatives from Jephson, the Foundation and other partner organisations attended ceremonies at both sites to thank all those involved in making the schemes a success.

The first development to be officially opened was Broadwater Dale, a £1.4million scheme of 10 units in Letchworth Garden City, made up of three three-bedroom houses, four two-bedroom houses, one single-bedroom flat and two two-bedroom flats for social rent.
Built on the former site of residential garages, the Broadwater Dale development was part funded with a £588,800 Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) grant.
Following the opening the partners then travelled to nearby Great Wymondley to mark to completion of a £1m development off Hitchin Road. This rural exception site, previously occupied by an old grain store, was only allowed by planning regulations to be developed on with affordable housing.
The development of six new homes, including four two-bedroom houses for affordable rent and two two-bedroom houses for shared ownership was part funded by a £236,800 HCA grant.
Jephson Business Development Manager, Tim West said: “We are delighted with the location and the design of these houses, which will all be high quality sustainable dwellings. We are grateful to the LGCHF for this opportunity, to the district council for their support and to the HCA for their vital funding.”
