Ebm-papst Seminar To Highlight Key Implications Of Climate Change Legislation
Environmental legislation is dramatically changing the way in which companies have to approach the built environment. To help businesses address this challenge, ebm-papst is running a free seminar on Wednesday 5th October entitled ‘Climate Change Regulations’ at its client centre in Chelmsford.
Event attendees will gain valuable insights into key developments in Government schemes designed to encourage the reduction of carbon emissions, including the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme and the Green Deal. They will also learn about the impact of the Energy related Products (ErP) Directive and how this affects building services.

In addition, the seminar will examine how the legal requirements, compliance and enforcement issues, considered by some as a burden to business, can become an opportunity for developing a sustainable future.
ebm-papst’s Helen McHugh, Head of Sustainability, and Geoff Lockwood, Technical Director, will be joined by a selection of leading industry experts to complete a formidable line-up of speakers, including sustainability consultant, Pete Thompson; Juliet Nicholas from Climate Consulting; Clive Turner from Zero Carbon Hub; and renowned sustainability expert Mike Malina from Energy Solutions Associates.
McHugh commented: “Businesses must ensure that the sustainable environment is a key area of their business planning. This is not just so that they can meet with legislative requirements, but also generate energy savings, and a lower carbon footprint, that will ultimately translate into long term cost savings & business benefit. Fan and motor technology is often overlooked when organisations examine how they can reduce energy consumption or reduce their carbon footprint. This seminar is primarily designed to inform attendees about the wider issues, but also drive awareness of how these targets can be achieved.”
