Engineering Firm 'Create' A Greener Pint
One of the country’s fastest growing engineering firms, Create Consulting, who recently announced 200% YoY growth, has been appointed to help household name Marston’s Pubs develop an environmentally friendly ‘model pub’.
Create, which has offices in Norwich and London, as well as a presence in Cambridge, Ipswich and Glasgow, was launched in 2009 by Jonathan Cage, a Chartered Engineer with over 22 years' experience. This latest contract, which Create won through Ipswich based Barnes Construction, could see the pub industry become a much greener and futuristic business prospect for potential tenants and investors as the buildings will be more efficient to run under 2010 Building Regulations.
Principal Sustainability Consultant at Create, Fiona Keysell, explains: “There are two new Marston’s pub sites we are completing a design assessment for on behalf of Barnes Construction - one in Spennymore and the other in Peterborough. Our role is to ensure that the model pub achieves as high a BREEAM rating as possible. We have also provided Marston’s with Energy Calculations and Energy Performance Certificates.”
Create has recently relocated to a newly refurbished head office in Norwich, which is on track to receive a gold rating with Ska. “In line with our own Corporate Social Responsibility strategy, we have developed an office environment with a focus on sustainability - it’s important to lead from the front and practice what we preach” explains Cage.
Award Winners Put Hertfordshire On The Road To A Green Sustainable Future Jonathan Cage puts Create’s rapid success down to outstanding customer service, strategic planning and a strong team with in-depth market knowledge: “Having increased turnover from £0.4 million in year one to £1.4 million in 2010 we are delighted that our strategy and approach is starting to show signs of having a significant impact on the market.” Jonathan continues: “In line with our long-term strategy and slightly ahead of schedule we have recently recruited key members of staff in London, Cambridge and Glasgow. This expansion will allow us to further develop our services across transport, geoenvironmental and geotechnical impacts, sustainability and infrastructure engineering”.Caroline Flint MP And Tom Greatrex MP Meet New Generation Of 'Renewables Apprentices' At Glasgow House Public Willing To Pay More For Greener Urban Spaces Hertfordshire County Councils' Building Future Awards 2011.
