Gas Safety Trust And BRE Host Workshop To Tackle Low Level Co Exposure
The Gas Safety Trust and the Building Research Establishment (BRE) are jointly hosting a workshop for indoor air quality organisations and relevant stakeholders. The aim of the event is to agree how the potential problem off low-level carbon monoxide (CO) exposure in homes, offices and public arenas can be measured and minimised. At the Gas/Fuel Safety and Indoor Air Quality Workshop (29 March 2011, BRE’s office in Watford) attendees will discuss current research data, where the knowledge gaps are and the potential issues and developments that could be causing low-level carbon monoxide exposure. Out of this will come an action plan which could include research or other initiatives which may require funding. The key outcomes and plan will be published for a much wider audience to review and comment on. “We are pleased to be co-hosting this event in partnership with BRE as the impact of low level carbon monoxide exposure is a critical area of focus for us. The outcomes of this workshop could be far reaching. They could affect how GPs handle patients in their surgeries, how the symptoms of CO poisoning are spotted and acted on, right through to how offices, homes and public buildings are constructed and managed, ” comments Nigel Dumbrell. The Gas/Fuel Safety and Indoor Air Quality Workshop takes place between 9.30am until 16.00pm on Thursday 29 March 2011 at BRE, Garston, Watford, Hertfordshire. Places are very limited; however, if you would like to attend and believe you can have a positive input to the day’s proceedings please contact Nigel Dumbrell at ndumbrell@gstrust.org.uk . If you are unable to attend but have any comments or ideas that you would like us to incorporate into the workshop please send them to the email above by Wednesday 23 March 2011. |
