Impressive Industry Support Sees The New Advanced Engineering Group Of Events Set To Catalyse UK Government's Advanced Technology Agenda
Supporting the government’s priority to re-balance the UK economy towards high value manufacturing and technology sectors, the Advanced Engineering UK 2011 portfolio brings together, for the first time, four key pillars of the UK advanced engineering supply chain, creating a unique and exciting catalyst for ideas, technology exchange and business development.
Impressive support
With support and participation from the UK’s leading technical and industry bodies, including UKTI, EEF (the manufacturers organisation), A|D|S (Aerospace, Defence, Security), Composites UK, Energy Generation and Supply KTN (knowledge transfer network), Electronics, Sensors and Photonics KTN, Motorsport Industry Association, GTMA, National Composites Centre, and Performance Review Institute, to name but a few, the Advanced Engineering UK group of events at the NEC Birmingham on 9 – 10 November 2011, provides a unique confluence of interest groups and synergetic high value UK engineering groups.

Building on previous success
Building on the success of last year’s twin-show event, which comprised Aero Engineering and the Composites Engineering Show, and which now sees the addition of the Energy Engineering and UK Plastic Electronics shows, this year’s expanded 2011 show portfolio has already seen visitor pre-registrations some three times higher than at this point last year.
With an unprecedented range of UK trade, technical and technology transfer bodies rallying behind the brand new 2011 Advanced Engineering UK group of events at the NEC Birmingham on 9 – 10 November 2011, show organisers, UK Tech Events are anticipating high volume nationwide attendance from design, manufacturing, engineering, and technology groups spanning the broadest possible set of applications, including: aerospace, automotive, motorsport, materials, medical, civil engineering, energy, marine, consumer and industrial products.
A unique breadth of solutions, partners and technologies
More than 350 exhibitors across four identifiable sectors, and six parallel integrated auditoriums generating in excess of 140 presentations during the two days, make the Advanced Engineering UK group of events one of the most important meeting opportunities for thousands of industry professionals across all UK engineering supply chains.
Each of the four co-locating shows that form the Advanced Engineering UK group of events is, in its own right, uniquely tailored to meet the technology and business development needs of its own supply chain communities and upstream customer groups. Each show combines specialist exhibits with free to attend parallel engineering Open Forums responding to the latest industry challenges and requirements. An optional ‘delegate upgrade’ provides access to additional business intelligence briefings, providing predicted trends helping companies to best position their future strategy. Together, the four events create a multiplier effect of interdisciplinary opportunities for the UK’s growing engineering technology and innovation communities. The whole is bigger than the sum of its parts.
Ian Stone, Director at UK Tech Events summarises: “The co-location of four key synergetic advanced engineering and technology sectors allows attendees to network and fact find beyond their typical environments, to discover accidental synergies and inter-industry technology transfer opportunities. The really exciting developments are often generated where worlds of knowledge meet”.
An integrated programme of feature business presentations addressing the horizontal UK advanced engineering and technology communities is further evidence of the predicted breadth and diversity of attendee groups, with themes that include UK ‘big picture’ manufacturing landscape, SME capital resourcing, IP management, and engineering business process excellence.
EEF, the organisation for UK manufacturing companies, and headline sponsor for the overall ‘Advanced Engineering UK group of events’ comments:
“The UK is now home to one of the most exciting high value-added manufacturing environments in the world. At EEF we support the future growth and development of UK manufacturing. We welcome the ‘Advanced Engineering UK 2011’ group of events in Birmingham later this year, providing an opportunity for knowledge and technology transfer, capability, networking and business development across four high growth sectors.”
