PLANTWORX - The Year That Was 2011 - A True Success Story.

The year is almost over and many of you will be glad to see the back of 2011 and will be looking forward to a more positive and prosperous 2012. We have all survived what has been a really difficult year and the idea of launching a brand new exhibition in the toughest of climates was deemed as unwise by some. However, PLANTWORX has defied the odds, and with the overwhelming support from the construction industry – a new show has been formed – a real success story for the year that was 2011.
PLANTWORX, although not taking place until May 2013, has already got the construction industry excited about the all-action event. Shaped by some of the industry’s leading manufacturers, and with the support of the show’s organisers the CEA, the show is promising to provide all that is required from a working plant show, which includes lots of demonstration areas and the presence of major manufacturers and supporting products and brands.
The success of the show’s launch is attributed to listening to what the industry required and what other shows failed to deliver, The PLANTWORX team has stuck to this ethos and will continue to work with the industry to continue to shape what will be an unmissable show– an event for the industry by the industry.
Simon Frere-Cook MBE, PLANTWORX exhibition director said, “We at PLANTWORX are really proud of what we have achieved in 2011 and would like to thank all those people who have been involved in creating this event.
The final site plan is one that will maximise the experience at PLANTWORX 2013 for both the exhibitor and the visitor - it will be easy to move around the event between the static stands and the demonstration areas with the maxi stands spread throughout.   There are plenty of stand choices and space for demonstrations and the Pavilion will provide a good location and layout for the indoor exhibitor.  We will be having dedicated zones for site clearance stands, learning, training, education and security.”
Mike Coleman is operations director for the show; it’s his responsibility to ‘build’ the event he said, “From an OP's point of view the show site is settling down very well.  There will be some minor tweaks and it is early days. Reacting to sales and exhibitor requirements means being ‘alive’ to small changes as we progress.  I am confident that we will have a showground to be proud of and will meet the expectations of the industry.”
To date 30% of the total overall exhibition space has been sold. The early bird discount of 5% is available until December 31st2011 and a further 7.5% discount is offered to CEA members.PLANTWORX sales manager Angela Spink said, “I have received extremely positive responses from the exhibitors. They have commented on our flexible approach and willingness to listen to their requirements. The number of booking forms I am receiving is increasing steadily each week and I expect this to continue - especially on the run up to the end of the Early Bird discount period, which closes on 31st December!”
Exhibitors that have already booked their stand space include, Ammann, Bomag, Case Construction, Hyundia, JCB, Manitou, Merlo, NC Engineering, New Holland, Northerntrack, Takeuchi, Terex, Thwaites, Volvo, Wacker Neuson and many more! A full list will be on the PLANTWORX website soon.
The CPA (Construction Plant Hire Association) will also be exhibiting at the show. Haydn Steele, CPA’s health and safety manager has been talking to the CPA’s members, “Our members are generally very welcoming of the show and think that it’s long overdue. Also that at last there will be a show that is providing exactly what they want to see. Some of the members also said that they will definitely be visiting the showand looking to increase their fleet.”
As 2011 draws to a close the PLANTWORX team can look back at the year with positive thoughts and look forward to 2012, where the show will continue to grow.
